Control Systems Engineer
Portsmouth, Hampshire, South East
Salary negotiable depending on experience plus excellent benefits
As a specalist recruitment agency we are currently recruiting for our client an Control Systems within their EICS Control Systems Department.
The Control System Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the control system(s) will be
delivered at the right quality, on time and to budget.
The control systems may include DCS, ESD, F&G, Machine Monitoring, Tank gauging, Truck
loading, Management information system etc.
Responsibilities:
Prepare execution plan for purchasing and follow-up of DCS, ESD, F&G systems
Prepare User Requirement Specification for control system(s)
Define control requirements
Define safeguarding requirements
Prepare logics, control diagrams and database for control system parameters
Prepare requisitions for control system(s) inquiry/purchase (hardware & application software)
Execute Vendor Management on all control system purchase orders
Interface with Process/Electrical the motor control philosophy
Interface with Process/Package Unit Vendors the application software requirements
Interface with client control system details as appropriate
Interface wiring and space details with the Instrument Design Group
Execute control system(s) FAT (factory acceptance test) and SAT (site acceptance test)
Ensure that the appropriate client comments are incorporated
Ensure that company standards and client standards are used
Provide details to his Lead Engineer for preparation of "design change requests"
Ensure engineering is performed safely and with the required quality
Execute the work according to the Project Execution Model (PEM)
Essential Requirements:
Master or Bachelor of Science degree qualified, preferably Chartered Engineer status
Minimum 10 yrs experience with control system engineering, preferably within chemical or
refinery plants.
Experience with HAZOP studies and knowledge of SIL classification, implementation
Experience with lump sum turn key projects is an advantage
Has great drive to make things happen
Has a strong goal orientation and time management skills
Is a team player
Is able to delegate work and motivate people
Other Requirements:
Mobility required for business trips across Europe and internationally also occasional short
term assignments.
