Job Description: Support Workers required for Brookdale Care’s Residential Services in St. Neots and Abbotsley. Brookdale Care is a specialist care service for people with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading organising providing full and on-going training and offering excellent career development. Locations, St Neots & Abbotsley - Cambridgeshire40 hours per week, including weekends.Shift work on rota basis, to include early, late and night shifts.Starting at £7.84 ph rising to £8.43 per hour, on completion of a successful probation period Objectives of the Role: To provide a caring residential and day service provision which caters to individual’s specific needs and disabilities associated with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) whilst maintaining respect and dignity at all times. Ensuring that the aims and objectives of the home are met at all times and to undertake direct or indirect care to service users’ or a service user as part of the team, under the supervision of the Senior Support Worker/Team Leader and Registered Manager. Education, Experience & Key Attributes: Good general education Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal A keen interest in caring for individuals with mental health problems / ASC A willingness to learn and develop A Care Qualification (NVQ in Health and Social Care) would be an advantage but not essential as full training given. Previous support worker experience would be desirable Demonstrates some understanding of mental illness/learning disabilities and ASC Computer literate Good time management and priority setting ability Ability to listen, observe and communicate effectively Ability to help service users with personal care when required Ability to act in a responsible and sensible manner Other Information: Successful applications will be subject to 2 satisfactory references and a CRB disclosure.
