Principal Mechanical Engineer
Location: Eynsham, Oxford
Following a review of their technology development strategy, our client is strengthening their magnet engineering team, and currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer. The successful applicant will join a multi-disciplinary group in our Engineering Department, and work to develop and maintain our state of the art competence in magnet design, analysis techniques and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Development and deployment of technology projects within budget,
- New Product: concept, design and realisation.
- Generation of innovative design solutions
- Evaluation of technical issues to enable reliable product performance
- Define, review and ensure compliance of technical standards and purchasing specs
- Evaluation of competitor products to support the businesses Marketing
- Mentoring of technical staff
Education, Skills and Knowledge
Applicants must have a good Honours degree in an engineering discipline; post-graduate qualification and / or relevant industrial experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Broad spectrum of mechanical engineering experience capable of applying a flexible and creative approach to a variety of engineering technologies
- .Ability to analyse complex technical and commercial engineering problems to identify and deliver pragmatic solutions.
- Proven ability for Technical leadership
- Ability to plan and mitigate risks to acceptable levels to ensure project objectives are achieved on time.
- Awareness and experience of working within the commercial structure of a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
