Job Description: TEK Consultants are recruiting on a Contract basis for a Project Engineer at 2 sites - 1 in East Midlands & 1 in West Midlands.
Our client is a sequenced supplier in the Automotive Industry and is expanding its business by offering its unique method of working through the TPS system to other car manufacturers.
They now require a Project Engineer to join the team to help with the smooth introduction of a new project over the next 18 months.
Skills
Able to present facts and figures in a concise way.
Fully computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Great accuracy and attention to detail.
Roles and Duties
To liaise with all the different departments of our new customer and put in place workable cost effective systems.
Help with the creation of a detailed master schedule and ensure adherence to it.
Assist with the creation of detailed equipment specifications.
Assist with the creation of new layouts using process mapping techniques.
Ensure that all sites achieve and maintain TS16949 and ISO 14000.
Creation of PPAP documentation.
Ensure that all expenditure is within or below budget.
Prototype production builds are planned and achieved in a timely manner.
To assist in identifying suitable buildings located close to the manufacturing plant.
Confirmation of manpower requirements.
Be fully conversant with the following disciplines:
Layout and process design
Process Mapping
5S
Visual Management
Continuous Improvement (Kaizen)
Standardised Work
Kanban Systems
Poke Yoke
ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems
ISO9000 / TS16949 Quality Management Systems
Health and Safety Management
FMEA
SPC
5 Why or Practical Problem Solving (PPS)
Logistics
Packaging
Stock Control
Experience of Autocad would be an advantage.
Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week.
Ideal applicants will have the minimum of a HNC but preferably educated to degree level
