Job Description: Job Title Engine Performance Simulation Engineer
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic research team developing and applying world class simulation tools to ensure the success of future engines and machines. A collegiate R&D environment where guidance and support is provided by senior engineers await successful candidate for this position. Opportunities to further enhance technical knowledge through internal and external training courses are available. Development and calibration of 0D/1D engine and vehicle system models for performance and emissions modeling. The ability to link engine models to other powertrain models, hydraulics and control system models will be medium to longer-term expectations. Validation of the machine models against lab and real world data will be the primary focus of this role. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervision of field data collection by our machine group collaborators.
Essential Qualifications:
MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience with engine simulation tools (e.g. GT Power, Ricardo Wave) Proficient with Matlab/Simulink
Essential Attributes:
Candidates must have a:
Strong background in diesel engine performance
Strong background in 1D diesel engine simulation
Understanding of fuel, air, cooling and combustion systems
Desirable Attributes:
Experience with powertrain system simulation 1D modeling of engine or vehicle systems
Prior experience with AMESim
Excellent communication skills
Rate: Up to £24 p/h Ltd Co depending upon experience
