Job Description: JOB TITLE: Restraints PMST Leader LOCATION: Gaydon, Warwickshire SALARY/RATE: Negotiable DURATION: Contract COMPANY INFORMATION: My client is a major manufacturer of luxury automobiles. OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE: To lead the safety restraints development, design and release across all programs to ensure all targets and legislative requirements are met. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Define component level targets (from legal requirements, OEM (SDS), SAE, industry standard practice etc). 2. Lead a team to deliver restraints system components. Take ownership for the development and release of all vehicle restraints (airbags, seatbelts, steering wheel, restraint electronics etc) across all VH platform vehicles and Cygnet. 3. Lead the management of external suppliers to deliver all program targets. 4. Control the component DVP and supplier D&D tests for restraints components (ongoing control/review) 5. Ensure failure avoidance tools and processes (DFMEA/FMA etc) are applied to restraint components 6. Lead the financial management of supplier D&D and tooling budgets to ensure that they deliver on time, within quality targets and within budget. 7. Ensure engineering releases are completed to highest quality and on time 8. Ensure restraint related concerns are resolved to the highest quality and on time 9. Own the engineering signoff/approval of component/subsytem performance a. Write the system engineering signoff report 10.Drive engineering issue resolution to meet all program targets and constraints 11.Lead engineering decision making towards issue resolution 12.Liaise with project teams as restraints representative across all VH platform products & Cygnet a. Act as first point of contact on projects for all restraints related issues b. Ensure restraint programmes meets project timing requirements c. Deliver restraint programme within project budget ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 5 years experience in Vehicle Safety Restraint Systems engineering is preferred Engineering degree (or equivalent) Experience of leadership or clear evidence of leadership ability Clear knowledge of fundamental engineering theory Evidence of enthusiasm for the role Excellent organisational skills Self starting and self motivated SKILLS/CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED: Must be able to learn quickly and integrate into a successful and dynamic team, offering strong character attributes as well as the necessary knowledge and experience above.
