Our client is a leading advanced automation and real-time business intelligence company specialising in automation, control and IT solutions and services in the nuclear, power generation, utility and oil & gas markets. The company are renowned for innovation, technical excellence, project delivery, quality and safety.
A PLC / SCADA Support Engineer is required to supplement the Software Support Services team with specific PLC and SCADA skills. It is a customer-facing role that requires someone who is able to work independently. Site work is a key aspect of this role and therefore the candidate would ideally have experience in power generation, water or utilities sectors. It is preferred that candidates should have a clean and current driving license with the ability and willingness to attend customer sites as well as undertake out-of-hours support on a rota basis.
The ideal candidate will be competent in all PLC and SCADA platforms supported and the successful candidate will be expected to undertake training to learn systems in which they are not competent. Typically these include:
• PLC: Rockwell PLC5/SLC500/ControlLogix, Schneider Modicon Quantum and Siemens S7.
• SCADA: Rockwell Factory Talk View ME/SE, Schneider Vijeo Citect, Siemens WinCC, iFix and Wonderware Intouch.
• DCS: Siemens PCS7.
You can expect a Basic Salary of up to £28k; This vacancy is commutable from Wolverhampton, Dudley, Stone, Stafford, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Crewe, Stoke-on-Trent and Nantwich.
