Beyond engineering, they provide a range of specialist services. These include radiological and environmental monitoring, corrosion and materials testing, through life support and safety consultancy
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Nuclear Mechanical Design Engineer will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a range of services to support AWE projects. The mechanical engineer is predominately a design delivery role with a degree of team leadership i.e. providing technical guidance and imparting knowledge to Graduates and Designers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful execution of high quality engineering design solutions to time, quality and
Carry out feasibility/option studies and to provide cost effective design solutions to customers’ challenges
Provide estimates and technical specifications of engineering work for proposals/tenders,
Maintain successful working relationships with existing contacts in client organisations and develops new contacts and opportunities for new business
Maintains a technical knowledge and competence in a field of expertise, which is recognised by clients, and seeks to develop skill portfolio
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should ideally be qualified to a minimum standard of:HNC/HND (having achieved or be working towards I Eng) or degree level (having achieved or be working towards Chartered status) in a relevant discipline.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Knowledge and experience of the design of mechanical manufacturing & tooling apparatus, & lifting and handling apparatus, supported by working knowledge of production systems
Due to the security sensitive nature of my clients workload only British nationals will be considered.
