Job Description: Our client is a major oil & gas company. They are looking for a design engineer experienced in the development of downhole technology for the oil & gas industry.

Perform general design duties as assigned by Line Management carrying out such duties as:
•Develop new products and services.
•Implement modifications to existing products to meet internal or external customer needs.
•Control and leading of assigned engineering projects.
•Identify any opportunities for improvement (OFI) regarding design, planning and manufacturing processes.
•Production and maintenance of engineering drawings for use in the manufacture, assembly and testing of products using CAD systems.
•Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) investigation, where appropriate, in relation to ongoing projects.
•Preparation of calculations and design packages for performance of design review.
•Conduct evaluations and design reviews of new and existing product designs.
•Development and maintenance of test procedures, carrying out appropriate liaison with the Assembly / Test Technician on testing programmes.
•Participe in the investigation and review of field and problem job reports.
•Participate in the development of field running procedures.
•Participate in prototype equipment jobs, onshore or offshore.
•Development and maintenance of bills of materials within the Product Data Management (PDM) systems to ensure correct manufacture of equipment.
•Production and maintenance of test reports, job reports, and investigation reports.
