Job Description: Science PR Writer Southampton £25-33K plus bonus Permanent We're looking for someone who has an advanced practical understanding of life science, is genuinely interested by science in general, and is skilled at crafting insightful PR and marketing copy. The role With a molecular biology or similar life science PhD, and preferably additional lab experience, you are expert at writing clear, marketing copy about complex life science topics. Equally adept at writing press releases, articles, brochures and web text, you will also need to build close working relationships with the science trade media. For some projects you may also be required to interview key opinion leaders, active researchers, or scientists from the client company, so it is essential that you can communicate lucidly at this level. You will also need to be both highly organised and able to take responsibility for managing multiple projects to deadline from soon after day one. You will also need to provide scientific and technical support to Alto account teams and clients as necessary. There will be some UK and occasional European/international travel. Skills and Knowledge � Must have Life Science PhD with an advanced, practical understanding of the life sciences � Excellent scientific marketing writing ability � English as your first language � Able to prioritise and manage multiple projects for clients � Confidence to be dealing with clients and media from day one � Good communication skills � Service-oriented and flexible working approach � Able to get on with a small team � A second language would be an advantage � Easy to work with � Creative thinking and enthusiasm � Ability to attend meetings/exhibitions (sometimes at short notice
