Job Description:  Cost Accountant / Management Accountant - Birmingham - Excellent Salary & Benefits PURPOSE OF ROLE To support the finance manager, particularly with regard to the completion of the management accounts and weekly forecast, working capital forecasts, budgets and management of the balance sheet. Plus help in ensuring application for payments are issued on time and with the relevant detail. LOCATION: Based at Warstock Road offices in Birmingham however the role will also involve some travel around the Midlands. REPORTING TO: Finance Manager MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES �Review of weekly profit & loss accounts - ensure correct and timely submissions from commercial team �Preparation of monthly management accounts within prescribed deadlines, including commentary and analysis of monthly results. �Production of monthly board reports �Management of balance sheet accounts and preparation of supporting schedules �Weekly & annual cash flow forecast �Help with preparation of overhead application for payments. �Financial support to the Operations Director. Including ad-hoc analysis, attendance at contract reviews & financial reviews etc. �Prepare financial analysis as required including monthly financial review documents �Man management of management accountant role �Monitor progress of identified cost saving initiatives and highlight any deviances to the plan �Constantly review everything we do and suggest either cost savings or process efficiencies both in finance and the Power division KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED �CIMA / ACMA / ACCA �Skills and knowledge required to complete management accounts. �Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlook ups). �Experience within the utilities industry would be hugely beneficial. �Good organisational skills that enable them to achieve tight deadlines. �Can do attitude with an aptitude for constant improvement. �An eye for detail is essential �A professional approach, enthusiasm and effective communication skills will be essential.
