Job Description:  Print Manager Role for Health Professional Council Key account abilities . To undertake all tasks to develop and maintain an effective technical and production service for printing and copying so as to ensure the smooth running of all work allocated and received by the Print room. . Give technical advice and training to all operators in the use of equipment and materials and carrying out operations as required. . Monitor regularly and frequently the equipment and resources of the Print room to ensure that the best technical use is made and up-time is maximised. . Regularly review processes and technology developments and advise on opportunities to improve print and copying facilities. . Proactively making use of and managing external print bureaus to ensure SLAs are always met. . Create and maintain a process for logging, managing and reporting on the daily workflow of FtP case related copying and printing. . Offer advice and guidance to FtP staff on copying and printing services as necessary. . Agree SLAs and ensure SLAs are met across the print room service. . Establish quality standards for completed work including checking and inspection of completed work and introduction of a robust quality control procedure within the print room. . Monitor and maintain efficient operation of all print room equipment. . Identify and advise on specific training needs of existing post room staff. . Compile and prepare monthly management information to facilitate performance measurement and decision making. . Ensuring safe working practices are observed and a tidy work place is maintained at all times. . To have direct liaison with customers contacting the Print room and to deal with their enquiries through the necessary channels, assisting them as appropriately throughout, providing detailed project management services for all aspects of the copying and printing work flow. . To liaise with other NMC departments including ICT and Finance as necessary. . To organise and supervise staff and resources engaged in the printing and copying functions to ensure full operational coverage at a minimal cost at all times during operating hours. . Maintaining and develop effective systems for the receipt and control of all work received in the Print room. . Supervision and safe custody of customers copy including documents whilst in the care of the Print room. . Operating the production control systems and setting targets for work to be processed by the Print room. . Ensuring production by the cheapest and most effective method available in liaison with FtP Office Manager and within an agreed framework.
