Job Description: A Telecommunications Giant is looking for an extensively experienced Lead Solutions Developer to become a part of their team in Ipswich. The successful candidate will assist the client in delivering highly technical, mission critical system operation and support to demanding and highly influential external customers. Candidates MUST be able and willing to go through DV Clearance (Developed Vetting). This is a highly technical role requiring extensive experience in the Operation and Technical support environment along with equally extensive experience as a Unix/Linux/Oracle System Administrator. Candidates must also have extensive experience of Oracle versions 10 and 11; this includes partitioning, real application clusters, scripting and performance tuning. Significant experience of Software and System Engineering methodologies, Web Logic, Database operation and automated storage management is required to successfully fulfil the role. Moreover, significant working knowledge of IP Networking, C++, Microsoft product support is also required by the client. Candidates are expected to have a strong understanding of J2EE concepts and practical experience of implantation of ITIL/CMMI model. The chosen candidate will have a strong desire to deliver excellent customer service, with an extensive proven track record and ability to manage demanding customers in a challenging environment. Candidates MUST be able and willing to go through DV Clearance (Developed Vetting). The successful candidate will be based in Ipswich but significant periods of time will be spent working overseas directly supporting the clients products and services within the customers environment. The Lead Solutions Developer will lead a team and be responsible for controlling and coordinating the technical Operation and Support activities for mission critical bespoke products and services. He/She will also provide Technical 2nd (and in some instances 3rd) line technical support and represent the client as Customer Relationship Manager, facing the external customer in support of these products. The Developer will also take ownership of the product and services Service Level Agreements, ensuring all aspects are delivered on or better than target. Candidates should submit their CV in the first instance. The pay rate is negotiable but dependent entirely on experience.
