Job Description: Primary Plant Engineer (Electrical)
£30,000 - £40,000 + Pension + Life Assurance + Training

Are you a high level electrical design engineer experienced working with HV and EHV Substations? This is an excellent opportunity to work with a global leading group offering excellent technical progression and training for the right individual.

The Job Description:
Low and high voltage cable sizing calculations
Earthing system design using CDEGS software
Calculation of Mechanical Forces on equipment
Preparation of technical specifications for electrical equipment such as:-
Gas Insulated Switchgear
Air Insulated Switchgear
Circuit Breakers
Disconnectors
Earthing Switch
Surge Arrestors
Current Transformers
Voltage Transformers
Substation Busbar Arrangements
Transformers/Reactors
High Voltage Power Cables
Overhead Line Structures within substation
Layout design of HV Substations up to 400kV
Selection of Electrical Equipment and their Rating
Preparation of Bill of Materials for busbars, connectors, clamps, earthing materials, steel structures, cables, etc
Interface and coordination between equipments
Interfacing and co-ordination with other Disciplines
Familiarity with International Standards
Use of Microsoft office packages
Preparation of Installation Method Statements in conjunction with equipment and client specifications and health and safety requirements, for the site works
The Person:
* Degree or HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
* Excellent electrical design experience
* Extensive experience of above job description
* Ideally experience working with or for the national grid
* Experience working with substations
* Available for short term travel both in the UK and overseas.
