Job Description: My client based in Newcastle upon Tyne is an established family owned company. They operate over two principal sites under manufacture and distribution of compounds and surfacing systems. They are looking for a QHS&E Advisor to replace the existing advisor.
Based in Newcastle and reporting into, and assisting, the Works Manager your specific responsibilities shall include:
•Company representative for all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) matters.
•The maintenance and continued development of the company’s Quality and Health, Safety and Environmental management systems in accordance with a certified ISO 9001:2008 system, the requirements of third party approval bodies and ISO 14001 and 18001 requirements where appropriate.
•Maintenance and continued development of all licences to operate including two PPC authorisations and licensing arrangements with HM Customs and Excise, Trading Standards and the Department of Transport (VOSA).
•The maintenance of product related British / ISO Standards, Jobling Purser Technical and Safety data and other documentation necessary for the manufacture, testing and distribution of materials and products.
•Maintenance and continued development of all appropriate risk assessments and QHSE monitoring systems.
The routine audit, review, amendment and issue/re-issue of policy manuals, operating procedures and associated documentation.
•The planning, development and control of audit activities, including all second and third party audits.
•The approval of contractors via selection, induction and permit to work systems
•Large and intensive utilities monitoring and reporting.
•The design and delivery of training programmes for personnel at all levels within the organisation.
•The organisation of internal investigations following accidents, unplanned releases, plant failure, security breaches or other significant incidents or near misses and ensuring that the actions agreed to prevent recurrence are carried out and effective, including liaison with all regulatory authorities where appropriate.
•Provision of advice to all departments on Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental matters.
