Job Description: Our client, an international company based in Teddington have a vacancy for Web Developer, based within the Marketing Team at their head office in Teddington. Role: The successful candidate will be based within the web services team, who are responsible for the company website, intranet and other bespoke projects. They are currently working with a supplier to migrate the bespoke Classic ASP multi-site CMS to Umbraco (ASP.NET based CMS) and initially, you will be working with the supplier of the CMS, our web developer, and other stakeholders within the company to migrate multiple company websites from the existing CMS to the new Umbraco CMS. This will involve adding back-end and front-end functionality to Umbraco. After the initial migration period, you will be involved with the future development and maintenance of the CMS: Working with our web developer to plan and add functionality, create new sites, etc. Assisting with day to day trouble shooting and technical support to CMS users Helping to maintain technical documentation, and user guide/user training documentation Looking after hosting/disaster recovery planning and testing Managing the project's source code repository (SVN), and planning migration of new functionality from the staging/testing environment to the live server You will also work with the existing web developer to add functionality to the intranet site, and develop/maintain integration between the intranet and CMS where necessary. Ideally we are looking for a candidate who is an all-rounder, happy to work on the back-end and front-end of our sites. You should be a knowledgeable ASP.NET developer, preferably with exposure to Umbraco or Sitecore, but should also have a good knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript libraries such as jQuery. The position may involve working directly with internal stakeholders to establish requirements, and in some cases providing training/support on the systems you develop. Skills/experience: ASP.NET C# Working knowledge of Classic ASP Microsoft SQL Server MySQL Front end technologies such as CSS / HTML / JavaScript (we use jQuery) Umbraco/Sitecore experience would be desirable: Razor/ CSHTML and XSLT scripting Working with Umbraco/Sitecore components such as uSiteBuilder and uComponents Experience of high availability web hosting Parkside Recruitment Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.Parkside Recruitment is an Equal Opportunities Employer
