Job Description: Software Engineer- Tactical Communications & Surveillance Systems C, C#, GUI, .Net, Windows, Linux, Telecommunications, Defence Telecommunications/Defence Product Development Reporting into the Director of Software Engineering, the Software Engineer will provide proven experience in software and GUI design and development skills within the Research and Development department. The right candidate will be an excellent highly motivated, innovative software engineer and be responsible for designing, documenting and implementing software for various applications.. As a Software Engineer your key responsibilities will include: Work with system component owners and subject matter experts to assist in development of new products and features. Analysing customer requirements and producing designs that satisfy their needs. Managing key stakeholders both internal & external. Designing and implementing user interfaces to the house style. Designing and implementing reusable GUI framework components. Accurately and efficiently diagnosing issues in a complex software/hardware environment. Performing hardware/software integration tests and trials to demonstrate that system design goals are met. As a Software Engineer your qualifications and experience should include: Degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline. Solid background writing customer deliverable software in a product development company. Development experience in a telecoms or defence environment (preferred). Keys skills and experience with C++ and C#, development in GUI, .Net, Windows, Linux (desirable). STL, Boost, UML. Experience of managing colleagues/sub-contractors on a project basis if required.
