Job Description: Mechanical Design Project Leader Oxfordshire to £45k+ben (negotiable) Our client are recognised as one of the world's leading automotive technology organisations and as a result of continued success and an ongoing program of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Project leader to complement their established and highly successful team. Tasked with the delivery of complex projects within the technical department , the successful candidate will ensure that technical, quality, timing and budget objectives are met or exceeded for all of their projects, and will directly manage project teams comprised of staff from several departments, both technical and non-technical whilst assisting Chief Engineers and Heads of Project Management in the development and implementation of effective and efficient project delivery processes. You will ensure that project tasks are completed to the highest standards, in line with the required project deliverables and client expectations from proposal preparation through to project completion, and will ensure effective and accurate planning of projects and technical tasks, ensuring that resources, costs, facilities and materials requirements are correctly allocated and that the accuracy of project plans is maintained at all times throughout project. You will provide proactive support of business development activities including client development, proposal preparation and representation of the company to third parties and will ensure that project documents are correctly retained within the company knowledge base. Additionally you will provide updates on project status as required and ensure that Chief Engineer, Account Manager and, where appropriate, Head of Engineering are aware of any issues which may affect successful delivery of a project and to ensure that satisfactory mitigating actions are taken Degree qualified in a relevant engineering qualification and able to demonstrate proven team leader experience in a senior engineering role, to be considered for this demanding and varied role you will possess extensive experience of project management with knowledge of industry standard project delivery processes and a proven record of delivery, from concept and innovation stage, through into production.
