Job Description: Chief Engineer Our client is an outstanding Engineering Consultancy, based in Scotland, that provides a range of services to the Defence and Civil Marine sectors. With services that range across Design, Test, Advice, Safety/ Safety Case, Evaluation Services etc they benefit from World Class specialists and the variety/ importance of work to keep the most challenging of minds engaged. An opportunity has arisen to recruit for a Chief Engineer for the Structural Engineering Team You will be responsible for the management and performance of the Structural Engineering Team, production of bids, specification and delivery of technical work as well as winning follow-on business. You are likely to be a Chartered Engineer (although this is not essential). However you will also have to look externally and develop strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring that the team is exceeding expectations as well as looking for and developing new markets. You will be able to demonstrate: - A broad understanding of marine structures, including loading mechanisms, materials behaviour, design standards - The vision and drive to develop new business opportunities with MOD and industry and then see those through to delivery - Keen sense of customer need and proven track record in customer engagement - Experience of taking complex customer requirements and converting into deliverable projects - Strong client relationship management experience within a complex environment - Questioning, listening & influencing style to obtain relevant and accurate information from others - Good communication skills and a team player In return for your skills, experience and commitment you will be given the opportunity to use them to the full in a World Class environment.
