Job Description: Facilitate workshops/meetings and conduct stakeholder interviews to understand business requirements, challenge assumptions and gain consensus. Produce and maintain high quality, appropriate documentation that supports the needs of other project functions such as architecture, development, testing and support: User stories Business process mapping notation Screen design wireframes Requirements catalogues Data mapping documents Data dictionaries Data flow diagrams Functional specifications Design/develop conceptual, logical and physical data models that support business requirements, maximise performance, flexibility and extensibility while meeting agreed standards/best practice. Support the BA/DM Team's management and maintenance of data models within the model repository. Liaise with the development and DBA functions to ensure the successful implementation of data models. Consult with data source owners / managers to understand the flow of data and dependencies between systems, undertaking impact analyses as required. Liaise with system testers to advise on test case creation, and clarify requirements where required. Collaborate with business users and project management, assess project issues then scope changes to contribute to the change control process. Provide expertise and guidance on matters relating to business/data analysis and data modelling to other project team members and the wider department. Contribute towards the continuous monitoring and improvement of analysis standards and best practice To be considered for this position you will need:- Proven ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a manner appropriate to the audience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in stakeholder management. Experience of data warehousing / BI projects. Demonstrable capabilities in SQL query writing. Experience of using data modelling software (e.g. CA ERwin Data Modeller, Embarcadero ER/Studio, etc.) An understanding of Extract Transform and Load (ETL) theory and practice. Familiarity with data warehouse theory (e.g. Kimball / Inmon). Ideally, you'll also have: Working knowledge of the insurance domain Practical knowledge of agile methodology (Scrum).
