Job Description:  Account Manager - b2b education and technology Surbiton, Surrey £32-37K Are you looking to join an innovative, forward thinking company that is Fascinated by technology and education? The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate: Experience developing and implementing campaign strategies across a number of different clients in a busy agency environment The ability to initiate and build strong, long-term relationships with clients and media contacts The ability to lead and develop junior team members (role will include personal development and annual appraisals alongside our MD) Impeccable time management and the ability to juggle deadlines, also Strong copywriting skills Involvement in developing and implementing new business strategies Sound knowledge of digital/online campaigns and the different social media (highly desirable) PR skills: Develops, with Account Director/Managing Director, strategic and tactical client programmes. Demonstrates an ability apply PR techniques beyond media relations in response to client briefs. Familiar with viral and web PR techniques. Demonstrates ability to write persuasively, creatively pitch stories and identify/develop story opportunities. Leads journalist relationship-building initiatives within the team across various media sectors. Identifies and builds relationships at multiple levels within client. Builds and maintains key relationships with UK media/opinion leaders and other relevant third parties. Monitors and investigates 'market intelligence'; applies to client programmes as appropriate in conjunction with Account Director. Excellent communication skills: ability to express ideas and articulate concepts, recommendations, etc. in client or team meetings. Demonstrates a self-starter approach - Demonstrates innovation and creativity. Administrative/agency operations Accurately reviews billing arrangements for client. Identifies early account problems and acts/advises solutions, in conjunction with Account Director/Managing Director. Supports Account Director to ensure smooth integration of new business and smooth running of existing accounts. Effectively manages own time and that of junior staff; accurate use of company time sheet recording system. Supports company culture; actively seeks new, smarter ways of doing things. Is seen as an ambassador for the company both within Livewire and the wider industry. Client services Participates in client meetings, managing meeting protocols, agenda, etc. Plans and participates in client review meetings with team. Develops a consulting/advisory capability with client wherever possible; positions the client as a strategic partner/consultant. Manages day-to-day client liaison, ensures deadlines are met and the client continually informed of the status of ongoing projects. Account management and strategic thinking and planning Works with Account Director to finalise programme and budgets for client. Assumes accountability for financial aspects of cost management on client programmes; aware of financial status of accounts at all times. Maintains an in-depth interest/knowledge of current affairs; looks for links, opportunities to position company to client as appropriate. Business development Seeks and develops opportunities for organic growth of existing business. Demonstrates strong proposal writing and pitch preparation skills in conjunction with Account Director/Managing Director. Demonstrates advanced presentation and influencing skills. Holds in-depth knowledge of competitive landscape. Builds high-level analytical and research skills. Supports team development and staff team and project planning. Contributes via informed and constructive feedback to appraisals for junior staff. Contributes to and participates in personal development activities for junior staff i.e. via coaching, workshop development etc. Actively looks to maintain and build positive working relationships
