Job Description: Science Teacher South East London Are you an enthusiastic, energetic and knowledgeable newly qualified or experienced Science teacher looking to join a well established department from September 2012? Can you teach Science to GCSE and do you have the ability to teach Physics or Chemistry to A level? This successful Science Department is extremely well equipped with interactive whiteboards in all laboratories. Are you a Science teacher who enjoys working as part of a team and who wants to gain or has experience of teaching science across all Secondary key stages? This post would particularly suit an NQT seeking to develop a high profile career, or someone in the early years of teaching. Experience of teaching Physics and Chemistry would be an advantage. The Science Department has twelve experienced, supportive and committed members of staff working under the Head of Science. There are two co-ordinators within science, for KS3 and for KS4. The Department has achieved results in Key Stage 3 in the top 10% and at GCSE in the top 25% when compared to schools of a similar intake. Over the last three years the school has had its best results for KS3 and for GCSE, meeting or exceeding there agreed targets. There are nine laboratories and the department is well resourced in terms of equipment and textbooks. The laboratories are supported by a team of 3 qualified technicians. Each laboratory has a networked SMART interactive white board and each teacher is provided with a laptop to support their planning and teaching.
