Job Description: Cost Engineers/Estimators (10+) required for full-time positions based in the Midlands working for a high profile automotive client. Job Description Cost Engineering enables us to take exciting journeys as a business. Providing robust financial information and expert strategic insight, this key department helps drive profitable growth, allowing us to make further breakthroughs in the development of premium, luxury vehicles. We're currently seeking driven people to join the team at all levels. Candidate Profile As a Cost Engineer, you'll focus on a specific vehicle commodity - from Exterior to Interior, through Power Train, Chassis, and Electrical. You'll be responsible for: * Delivering 'should cost' estimates for a specific sub-set of parts. * Supporting the Purchase team in their negotiations with suppliers. * Working closely with Design Engineers as a business advisor. * Identifying and supporting the implementation of opportunities to reduce costs. * Influencing relevant programmes and commodity directions. * Supporting cross-functional, cross-brand and supplier charge outs. If you already have relevant professional experience, you could join us as a Cost Engineer, leading projects and making a difference to the vehicle development. Providing more than hands-on technical support, you'll also be accountable for: *Experience of leading technical negotiations with suppliers. *Cost Engineering or Estimating experience * Relevant manufacturing process knowledge. * Have technical awareness at both the production process and cost driver level. * Hold a Degree or higher qualification(s) *Material Cost engineering experience (Must be ideally Aerospace or Automotive) *Applicants from a Constructions, Plant or Quantity Surveyor background will not be considered. *Will consider candidates who have worked in roles Process Engineers/Process experts * Experience of working automotive industry Tier One or Two suppliers Lear / JCI / ZF or Consultancies.
