Job Description: Quality Engineers required to work for a leading Automotive client based in South Birmingham. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB *Implementation of World Class Quality Systems *Continuous improvement of Quality Deliverables *Resolve quality issues in timely manner *Meet all timelines for product launch SCOPE OF THE POSITION All members of the plant quality team: Supplier quality, Plant quality, Customer quality MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES *Is responsible to ensure that continuous improvement is made in all Quality Deliverables (e.g.: WC's, RPPM, DPPM, IPPM, and Warranty/JD Power) *Ensure that customer and internally identified quality issues are resolved using the appropriate solving methods (8D Report, Problem Solving Document "PSD", Kepner-Tregoe, etc.) within agreed timelines *Prepare, verify and implement necessary corrective / preventive actions for all quality issues *Assure that all Quality activities are performed according to TS 16 949 -, ISO 9000 standards and specific customer requirements *Able to manage Quality Technicians including work load, tasks performing RTW's, appraisals etc. *Responsible for driving quality improvements within the plant *Responsible for driving internal/external PCPA product improvements *Analysis and assist with scrap reduction within the plant *Prepare and maintain control plans for complete product *Ensure all shop floor charts, trackers and reports are updated on time *Supervise effective use of SPC in production and evaluation of results *Perform Capability Studies and Process Audits *Perform Gage Studies (Gage R&R, Bias, Linearity and Stability) before gage is approved for production tests or after product change (when applicable) *Is responsible for managing and constructing customer PPAP's. *Support the continuous improvement of the Operator Description Sheets (ODS) *Identify and use appropriate statistical tools and mentoring and training team members in use of the statistical applications and techniques Key Skills Preferred *Minimum 3 years in the Automotive Industry *Minimum 5+ years in Quality field Required *Knowledge of the AIAG Quality planning and Control Plan standard, FMEA´s, PPAP´s, Dimensional layouts, gage/fixture design and Performance/Material testing *People development and leadership experience is required. *Requirements may be waived based upon work experience Qualifications Preferred *Mathematically minded *Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including (minimum) QS9000, continuous improvement, Total Quality Management; PPAP, FMEA, Control plans, DOE and SPC are also required
