Job Description: 

My client, a leading insurance company based in Surrey requires a Head of Proffession Business Architecture & Analysis to Lead on all matters relating to Business Architecture and Analysis within the Division ensuring that Architectural Strategy is formulated and understood, best practice standards are Embedded and that resources are effectively distributed to deliver required results for the Division.

Role Accountabilities include:

  • Taking the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, therefore managing 65 direct reports, made up of Architects, Senior Business Analysts and Analysts
  • Leading the development of a cohesive Business Architectural Strategy and Route Map for the Division that will enable delivery of major benefits in line with broader strategic goals.
  • Identify best practice standard in business architecture and analysis and lead the introduction of this within the Division in order to drive capability improvement and deliver greater value for money and improved predictability of outcome.
  • Develop & communicate a clear set of architectural principles to the Business Units and through active involvement in all initiatives with architectural significant ensure that the Division remains on track to achieve the strategic vision.
  • Through the use of external benchmarking identify capability gaps within the analysis discipline and develop strategies that will drive performance improvement.
  • Consult with and advise the most senior stakeholders when formulating Business Unit Strategies influencing the agenda so that the wider aims of the Division are achieved.
  • Define and embed a robust Quality Assurance approach for major programmes and projects so that issues relating to architecture and requirements are identified early in the change life cycle and assist with the planning of necessary mitigating actions.
  • Comply with agreed methodology, standards, policies and procedures to ensure strong governance, sharing knowledge and providing feedback and ideas so that performance is continually improved.
  • Participate in the assessment of complexity for the major programmes and projects within the portfolio and identify those work items that need greater support and governance and take necessary action to wherever possible reduce complexity.
  • This candidate will be recognised by the External Change Community as a leader in his or her field. They will bring deep understanding of differing approaches that they are able to bring to the table and have the ability to influence and drive the adoption of best practice.

    Essential requirements

    • ISEB Business Analysis Diploma
    • Prince II Practitioner
