Job Description: Salary: Circa £28,000 to £35,000 depending on skills and experience Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britain’s railway. Department & how it relates to the role: Government and Corporate Affairs is responsible for the professional and consistent management of all internal and external stakeholder relationships in order to deliver an improved reputation for Network Rail. This includes communication with all employees, national and local government, the media, external liaison, and Network Rail’s members. The function is also responsible for managing the brand and visual image of Network Rail. The teams within G&CA work to develop trust and understanding with stakeholders, using effective channels of communications to build positive relationships. As a Communications Manager in our growing team, you’ll engage in community consultation, develop and manage local campaigns, manage sensitive issues and build relationships with a variety of stakeholder groups. Playing a key part in our Project Communications team, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing consistent and effective communications strategies for one or more of our major projects. You’ll manage stakeholder communication activities - media, public affairs, community relations and internal – and produce detailed communications plans. As the focal point for all external activity, you’ll ensure that relationships are appropriately managed and will control all external communications activity undertaken by the Project Director and their team. You’ll be the brand champion for the project, ensuring that branding, visual identity and image used on the project is consistent with the Network Rail message and overall communications strategy. It’s not necessary for you to have rail industry experience. In fact, what will set you apart is your motivation and natural flair for dealing with people at all levels.
