Job Description: Electrical Design Engineer Dorset £30,000 to £33,000 + Contributory Pension + Healthcare + 25 Days Holiday Electrical Design Engineer required to work in the fastest growing arms of one of the biggest engineering groups in the world. The primary part of this role will require experience of three phase controls - some electro-mechanical and some plc. Candidates will not be expected to design from a base level, but will be expected to use Siemens Step 7 and WinCC software and customise against requirements. The secondary role will be to look at existing control panel designs, update these accurately in line with latest legislation, write procedures and the necessary test specifications. You will be exposed to state of the art technology in a true market leader that invests in research and development. You will be working on both new products and the modification of the existing product range. After a multi-million pound acquisition and huge investment into research and development, this company are looking to expand on their water systems side of the business. The specialist product range includes on-board fresh water generators, ballast water treatment and condensing plants. They are 1 of only 9 companies in the world that are developing the much needed technology. The role offers regular training on new technologies that develop into the market place so that your skills will be kept at the forefront of the industry. The role: * AutoCAD based design of electrical power (3-phase) and control circuits, including the selection of components in accordance with company standards. * Creating and/or modifying AutoCAD drawings of: - Circuit diagrams. - Installation wiring diagrams. - Panel layout. - Legend plates and labels. * Creating and/or modifying Word documentation of: - Parts lists. - Panel specifications. - Test specifications. * Customisation of PLC and HMI programs using Siemens Step 7 and WinCC software using library modules developed by others. The Candidate: * Will have a qualification in Electrical /Electronic Engineering. * Experienced in the design and documentation of power and control circuits. * Capabilities in AutoCAD, MS Office and general IT awareness. * Practical knowledge of control system build, wiring and testing. * PLC and HMI programming skills
