Job Description: Wastewater Design Manager You will join our client's established wastewater framework team in Wiltshire. This is an excellent opportunity offering the chance to lead in the design of their portfolio of wastewater treatment Wessex Water projects, working as part of their integrated and forward thinking team. The successful candidate will gain experience in the urban water arena which will prove beneficial to their continuing professional progress in infrastructure engineering. The principal function of this position is to manage the design of a portfolio of projects of significant financial value, to time and budget. Your projects will be delivered by multidisciplinary and multi-regional teams. Typical challenges include the delivery of engineering solutions across a range of wastewater projects, from concept engineering through to detailed design. The priorities of this role include: * active client engagement * application of sound design management techniques, to include but not limited to: design development, value engineering, challenging of technical standards, technical reviews, coordination of design activities across engineering disciplines, delivery of schemes to deadlines, reporting on project progress to Project Managers Regional project Directors and Framework Manager. Key requirements of the role include: * a background in wastewater treatment is essential * full appreciation of the project design life cycle * sound appreciation of relevant design systems * ability to exercise sound technical judgement in complex situations * input as required into designers risk assessments and value engineering * demonstrable experience of applying risk management techniques * strong written and verbal communication skills * excellent people management skills * ability to delegate to and empower individuals * flexibility, being able to lead project teams across a variety of locations * ability to work closely with peers and client within a multi-disciplinary team * an awareness of sustainability and environmentally sound solutions * M Eng in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering * CEng is preferable Interested?
