Job Description: As part of the plans for continued growth, our client has an exciting opening for a Lead Mechanical Engineer. Our client seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to work within the connector division within the oil and gas industry. Reporting to the Senior Mechanical engineer, you will provide support to various New Product Development activities. You will become a senior member of the current team of mechanical design engineers to meet the ongoing and future engineering challenges being faced by the business. In addition to the day to day management of product developments associated with a current Engineer role, you will provide additional support to ensure company processes are followed and adhered to, multiple tasks are managed in parallel, junior team members are mentored and engineering output checking is supported to a high level. A strong work ethic is required, ensuring that products are developed to exacting standards resulting in high reliability in the field. Having the ability to oversee product qualification and commercialization of one or more developments, combined with technical client liaison will be key attributes of the successful candidate. The candidate must be able to liaise with all levels and departments of the company and, therefore, good communication skills are important. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to QHSE are also vital for this role. Required Skills / Experience: Degree in mechanical engineering preferred Strong mechanical background (including FEA) 3-5yrs experience in the oil and gas industry, or similar demanding industry. Experience with Autodesk Inventor or other 3D CAD system High attention to detail. Autonomous and driven Knowledge of ISO9001 quality systems Knowledge of metallurgy, elastomers, sealing elements, and dielectric materials Knowledge of qualification testing and manufacturing techniques Project management skills, especially wrt NPD from concept to completion over the course of six to 18 months.
