Job Description: Our client, a local government department, is seeking a Transport Manager for a temporary period of time. Your remit will be to manage and control all aspects of the vehicle fleet, including procurement, maintenance and operation, budgetary control and legislative requirements. General duties will entail: Ensure safe and efficient operation of vehicle and fleet assets; Manage and control resources in materials and vehicle fleet; Act as lead offericer in the procurement of all fleet and transport related matters, including development of tender documentation and specifications; Develop and maintain fleet replacement strategy; Preparation of reports; Supervision of contractors; Investigate all accidents, incidents, etc; Interested candidates should have fleet management experience along with financial control skills and vehicle accident / damage investigation experience. You should have in-depth knowledge of the transport industry including legislation and be a good team player with good communication skills.
