Job Description: Our client, based in Royston, Hertfordshire is looking to recruit a Chief Inspector with a track record of having successfully performed at a high level in Inspection and/or Quality in the Aerospace Industry. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102. Key Tasks * Organising flow of work requiring inspection throughout the factory. * Disseminating Senior Management directives throughout the Inspection Team * Generation of Management Reports (Right First Time trend lines and Non-conformance Pareto charts) * Non-conformance report writing from Operations Department * Quality problem resolution * Support the company's continuous improvement program * Ensure that 'best practice' techniques are used * Provide guidance and training to others in reading and interpreting engineering drawings * Undertake special projects as requested * Perform all reasonable requests made by management Skills Essential * Track record of having successfully performed at a high-level in Inspection and/or Quality in the Aerospace Industry * Conversant with AS9100 and AS9102 * Experience or working to SABRe requirements (Rolls Royce Quality Management Systems) * Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings and teach and advise others on how to do so * Hands on metrology experience using all types of measuring equipment including: Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Protractors, CMM, Shadowgraphs, etc. * Able to pick up parts and measure from first principles using component drawing only * Able to work in a high-pressure, technically demanding environment * Able to organise the flow of work requiring inspection throughout the factory * Able to disseminate Senior Management directives throughout the Inspection Team * Able to generate Management Reports (Right-First-Time trend lines and Non-Conformance Pareto charts) * Able to write up non-conformances from the Operations Department concisely and accurately. * Conversant with Quality Problem Resolution Tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Ishikawa * Strong leadership qualities - able to set an example for others to follow. Preferable * Conversant with Lean 6-Sigma Manufacturing Tools such as DMAIC, 5S and Minitab * Although this is not an essential requirement, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience of the Quality Red Flag Process
