Job Description: 1st / 2nd Line Support Technician - Oldham
Windows XP, Vista, 7 / Active Directory / Group Policy / DNS / DHCP / TCP/IP / Desktop / Network / Helpdesk / Support / Hardware / VNC / PCAnywhere / ISA / Symantec
My client, a leader in their field are looking to recruit a 1st / 2nd Line IT Support Technician to remotely support around their external client base, where you will be responsible for supporting a diverse range of technology covering Windows XP, Vista, 7, Active Directory, Desktop & Helpdesk Support, VNC, Backup & data protection etc. There may also be site visits (when required).
Some of the duties involved in this role will include password resets, general user administration, desktop rebuilds/maintenance, general helpdesk duties (call logging and escalation) - so excellent communication skills are essential, software and hardware support, setting up new users & responding within agreed time limits to call-outs.
Customer focus is key to this role, so they are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator, with an excellent telephone manner. In this role you will be required to deal with people at all technical levels, as well as customer complaints, so the ability to coerce information to customers without coming across as impatient or abrupt is essential.
