Job Description: Senior Laboratory Technician (Electronics) Our client are looking to recruit a Senior Lab Technician to assist within their testing team. The organization are an established business, who can offer you stability and a vibrant working environment. Working under with a team of Engineers, your work will be centered around the testing and debugging of Circuits designed for New Product Development. You will be competent in the use of typical Lab equipment & tools, Oscilloscopes and other Measurement equipment. The successful candidate's main responsibilities will include: Investigation and reporting on field failures to root cause and countermeasure - escalation from service centre repair function. * Component level investigation and diagnosis. * Follow up with QA / Test teams to counter measure. * Work with the Technical support managers to ensure the Software and Drives labs are safe, organised, clean and tidy working environments. * Working with the relevant parties to help organize the annual calibration exercise and organize repair of equipment when required. * Maintain and develop, new and existing test rigs and equipment. * Follow the Intranet Database Lab issues work list, use database on a day to day basis to prioritise tasks and keep it up to date. * Ensure temporary test assemblies are connected to a safe standard and health and safety rules are observed. * Working with the Engineering support manager, agree and complete projects which will enhance the facilities.. * Agree and meet timescales for completion of lab improvements. * Work with the Tech support management team to provide and maintain a safe working environment (Periodic equipment and facility functional checks, monitor lab testing). * Highlight and address any H+S issues which may arise within the Lab areas. * Manage the Lab access safety test, ensure all people with access to the Lab have passed the test, have a clear understanding of safe working practice while working in the lab. * Perform and log monthly E-stop circuit and cable checks. Required experience: * ONC / HNC in electronics / electrical engineering * drive experience * Fault finding skills * Test and repair experience * Report writing * Organisational skills Interested?
