Job Description: Stress Engineer Bournemouth, Dorset Salary depending on experience circa £28-38000 We are a recruitment company and we are currently looking for an experienced Stress Engineer - with innovation and insight. As a Stress Engineer you will be progressing and supporting Structural and Mechanical Stress Analysis tasks through outsourcing work packages and completing stress engineering analysis to aerospace standards As a Stress Engineer your responsibilities will include · Progress structural / mechanical stress analysis elements of a project as an activity integrated with all other design inputs from within an integrated project team, in order to develop the compliant design solution. Including leading small design teams when required and ensuring compliance to CME processes and procedures. · Liaise with IPT members and inter-departmental colleagues, and to report technical progress to Engineering and Programmes team leaders. · Support of yearly PDR process for Stress team members, mentoring Junior / intermediate members of stress team. · Assist Head of Group with process improvements in support of continual improvement philosophy. · To ensure the integrity of product structure minimising weight whilst meeting all imposed requirements. · To liaise directly with designers in order to help facilitate an effective design solution and verification process. As a Stress Engineer your experience & qualifications should include · Degree/HND/HNC or Equivalent in Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering · Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship Preferred. · Stress analysis experience with finite element analysis in conjunction with basic hand calculations in an aerospace environment. · Knowledge of MSC Patran & Nastran preferred. · Experience with any of the following would also be advantageous: Dynamic analysis; Vibration; Fatigue; Damage Tolerance; Non linear analysis. · Conversant with Microsoft Office applications.
