Job Description: CONFIDENTIAL Job Specification Quality Engineer Job ref: AZ/19325 Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 Location: West Midlands Reporting to Technical Director Job Function Maintain ISO9001 quality system under the supervision of the Technical Director Incorporate all business streams into the same QA system over a period of time Carry out a daily audit of manufacturing Carry out some internal audits and manage audits carried out by other staff, including proposing of corrective actions if required Occasional supplier audits, which could be abroad Dealing with external auditors and approval bodies such as BSI, Lloyds Register of Shipping, UL, Sira etc Maintenance of the companys calibration system for gauges and measuring devices Maintain central records of in-process inspection records Investigate customer complaints, rejects and returns and instigate appropriate corrective actions Maintain a central record of customer, internal and supplier complaints and rejects using QC01 forms Generate and communicate quality alerts for escaped issues Occasional customer quality visits, which could be abroad Record the cost of quality and customer complaints Involvement with the introduction of new products into manufacturing Preparation of PPAPs and FMEAs Contribute to the preparation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures Generate reports and statistics for management review Respond to customer quality questionnaires The person Must have good engineering understanding, with at least HND in mechanical engineering Experience of both plastic and metal manufacturing processes would be beneficial Must be enthusiastic and able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team Possibly six sigma green belt Automotive experience would be beneficial Able to use structured problem solving techniques to help drive continuous improvement, eg 8D, 5 Why and SPC Will have a full appreciation of lean tools and techniques Established in 1975 Listgrove provides comprehensive recruitment and human resource support to companies involved in plastics, packaging, petrochemical, environmental and energy sectors.
