Job Description: Our Client is part of a major UK Manufacturing Group, which incidentally embraces diversity, and has a wide product portfolio servicing a number of sectors. This division provides products and services to major UK-based automotive and construction machinery manufacturers either directly or via their Tier 1 suppliers. This role will be based between their Birmingham and Coventry sites. Reporting into the Senior Project Manager, your responsibilities will be to manage multiple small projects, with team sizes of 4 5 people, with a turnover of these projects in the Region of £800K with a tooling budget £200K. Working closely with a major OEMs to report on project status and planning stages to achieve timely introduction to manufacture. Liaising with Purchasing, Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing. Responsible for some prototype builds is also expected including ordering, scheduling and final assembly of small batches and assemblies. Educated to HND Level or equivalent working experience. Leading a multi discipline team, support assembly fixture final commissioning and customer buy off, working to TS16949 / ISO14001 / 18001. Carry out customer liaison, visit customers as required, supplier project specific liaison and technical support, Support Operator Training, involves some works instructions. Maintain drawing database and records of drawing distribution. Review current processes and drive improvement activities. Ensure Health and Safety compliance/ best practice/ disability awareness., This role requires practically minded candidates, with an ability to work independently and offer positive solutions and a flexible approach to working. The suitable candidate will have good analysis of parts and customer schedules experience, ability to read drawings and build assemblies. This role would suit someone with a background in NPI / Project Engineer / Launch Engineer. Experience of APQP, TS, FMEA are essential. Knowledge of other automotive systems would be an advantage. PC Literate in Word / Excel. Candidate must have a Full Driving License and own their own car
