Job Description:  Manufacturing Engineer Job ref: AZ/19115 Location: West Midlands Reporting to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager Overview: To technically support manufacturing areas, including the layout when required, procurement of equipment, planning production, new product introduction (NPI) and systems/ procedures, and training of Operators in accordance with Quality procedures and safe practices. Implementation of new processes and equipment. Key tasks: Responsible for the effectiveness, quality and cost of all objectives set from Management. Reporting of Key Performance Indicators. To develop modern production engineering techniques within the framework of project teams, including advanced product quality planning activities. To develop the working methods for assembly and put the appropriate systems in place for control. To plan the layout of the manufacturing area to ensure optimum efficiency. To set, evaluate and review production targets using modern manufacturing techniques. To create, update and review the bill of materials. To ensure all documentation (routings, BOM’s, work instructions etc.) are completely accurate and completed in a timely manner. Timely implementation of Engineering Changes. Create, review and update PFMEA’s. Support all 8D’s, internal and external. Improve and optimise the process to reduce costs of manufacturing, increase yield, improve product quality and manufacturing consistency. To continually work to eliminate non-value added activities and enforce Continuous Improvement. To promote the companies WPS system. To undertake any other projects or activities requested by the Supervisor or Manager. Personal Characteristics: Good standard of health Smart, well presented and professional Clear and articulate Ability to handle pressurised environment Education (Required): HNC level in Engineering Technical apprenticeship Experience in an automotive industry (although not a definite requirement) PC word processing skills Continuous Improvement skills/ knowledge Education (Desirable): HND/ Degree level equivalent in Engineering Additional considerations: To have a good knowledge of conventional machining capabilities and limitations Should have practical experience of the layout of facilities and ergonomics Information Technology experience High level of commitment and determination Behavioural competencies: Team oriented practical hands on approach Creative and enthusiastic Good people skills Able to grow with the business Able to operate on own initiative Able to identify problems and provide solutions Able to communicate effectively at all levels Positive attitude Pro-active Influential and able to make decisions Established in 1975 Listgrove provides comprehensive recruitment and human resource support to companies involved in plastics, packaging, petrochemical, environmental and energy sectors.
