Application Support Specialist (freelance) Job Details

Job Description: For my client in Utrecht I’m looking for a skilled 1st and 2nd line application specialist for a period of 3 months with extension.
Start date: ASAP
Weekly Hours: minimum of 40
Duration: 3 months with extension
Service Operations:
Providing 1st and 2nd line application and technical support to internal and external users.
Investigating issues that have been escalated to the 1st line, and continuing with 2nd line investigations where required.
Being involved in the incident management process for critical issues .
Skills
- Excellent communication skills on various levels and disciplines (technical / business), fluently English is a must, any other additional European / Asian (Chinese(mandarin), Japanese) language understanding (reading, speaking) is a pro.
- Eager and quick to learn the application and processes (both business and IT) to support
- Customer oriented
- Problem resolution driven
- take ownership and responsibility
- Reasonable level of technical understanding of; web applications, application development, database administration, hardware components
- Knowledge of customer finance, transportation, manufacturing business / processes is a pro
- Experience with support tools / ticketing systems (Siebel support tool in use)
- Able to build simple Excel/PowerPoint reporting over support process (e.g. KPI’s)
- Team player
- Participate in application testing
- Maintenance of manuals
- No 9 to 5 mentality
- Ability to travel in Europe (1x per month, max. 3 days), and possibly Asia (2x per year, min. working week)
- Experience with:
o MS Office applications; Excel, PowerPoint, Word
o MS Outlook
o MS SharePoint / TeamPlace
o Query tooling (e.g. SQL server)
