Job Description: Application Support Specialist / Trade Support (ETRM, SQL, Software) - London £45,000 Application, Support, Windows, SQL, VBA, Energy, Risk, Trading Platforms, Software, Commodities, Investment A leading provider of trading and logistics software products for the energy industry is seeking an experienced Application Support Specialist . Application Support Specialist with excellent experience of providing user support on a 1st and 2nd line basis within financial services or commodity trading is wanted for an exciting opportunity with a trading systems software vendor in London At Harrington Starr our client provides award-winning energy trading and risk management software for leading investment banks, hedge funds and commodity/ energy trading houses. Following a period of strong growth within the market they are looking to hire an Application Support Specialist to join their support team. Application Support Specialists will be responsible for 1st line and 2nd line support for my client's customers, resolving issues, configuring databases and configuring test systems. They will also need to understand the customer goals and the product design in order to be able to assist the customer as best as possible. Application Support Specialists will be required to have: · Strong experience of working in an IT Support role - a minimum of 10 years - preferably working in the investment banking or commodity trading industry · Must have supported a software trading system preferably an ETRM system · Experience of providing customer support from both a 1st and 2nd line perspective - Appreciation of standard industry best practice for IT support process (ITIL) · Strong working knowledge of MS SQL Server, Windows Server Configuration and VBA macros. · Excellent communication skills and ability to express complex ideas to customers This is an outstanding opportunity to join an award-winning energy trading and risk management software provider in an exciting, growing industry.
