Job Description: The Support Engineer is responsible for proactively dealing with all customer enquiries, answering customer calls and reviewing demands to ensure orders are accurately processed. The ideal candidate will have: - Previous sales experience - Previous experience of working in an instrument company - Previous customer contact experience Job Role - To identify product solutions for customers, clarifying technical, application and commercial requirements. When necessary, liaise with Customer Support and Marketing on special applications/products. - To formally record verbal enquiries on to the Sales Automation System and transmit details to the relevant external Sales Manager within 24 hours of the original call. - To follow the Company’s formal quotation/tender procedures and to adhere to the Company policies on pricing, conditions of contract and trade compliance - To ensure that customer discounts are only given up to an agreed published value and to gain approval from the Internal Sales Manager for discounts in excess of that value. - To issue customer quotations up to an agreed published value and to gain approval from the Internal Sales Manager for quotations in excess of that value. - Respond to requests for literature and keep relevant sales personnel advised of potential sales leads. - To develop and maintain a knowledge of all Company products and services as well as product applications and special requirements
