Job Description:  CONFIDENTIAL Job Specification Electrical Technician Job ref: AZ/19941 Salary: £22,150 Location: South Wales Day shift, 07.00 – 15.00, Monday to Friday. However there will be a requirement to work shifts in order to cover any holidays etc or if there are machine issues. When this occurs the applicable shift premium will be applied: Position Summary: Production support, where ever necessarily deemed. To follow health & safety processes and procedures at all times, ensuring that all equipment is safe for use and that it is in a fit state for production use. To resolve any electrical / mechanical issues that arise during the period of time spent in and around the facilities, and to promote good working practices that are directly linked to quality and cost. PPM`s to carried out upon request, and that all prospective failures are reported in the correct manner. Ensuring that housekeeping is kept to the standards set within the work area. Key Responsibilities: Ensuring that all equipment is in safe and full working order and complies with safety regulations. Carry out PPM`s where applicable and with the necessary skills and knowledge. Ensuring that breakdowns are addressed with a sense of urgency and a drive to minimize downtimes. Changeover of processing and ancillary equipment as required to meet production planning needs. Electrical / mechanical installation, failure analysis & action and cover of all equipment, plant and buildings as required and in conjunction with Factory Services department. Always act appropriately, with good ethics and courteousness at all times. Ensuring that statistical / reporting records are filled in when requested. Ensuring that shift change over conditions are communicated to your relief. To be flexible to your approach in working times and as team member. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: 10 years minimum within the high volume manufacturing.(This will include the time spent on getting qualified) HNC or Formal electrical apprentice, with city & guilds / BTEC qualification. Up to date regulatory certification. Experience with electrically driven hydraulics & pneumatics. Working knowledge of PLC control systems.(Omron, SEW, Allen Bradley & Siemens). Medical plastics / Injection moulding experience. Cartesian / multi axis robotics programming, fault diagnoses and fault solutions. Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: HNC or Formal electrical apprentice, with city & guilds / BTEC qualification. Up to date regulatory certification. Plastics industrial experience, 10 years minimum. Electrical Bias Technician: Experience of bespoke automation / assembly equipment (HVL / HSL) Servo control systems & programming. The use of computer aided diagnostic equipment for fault location & elimination. Plastics machinery experience, electronics & control systems. Electrical installation & commissioning skills. Advocate / promoter of health and safety within the work place.
