Commerical Loan Analyst/Underwriter Job Details

A large retail bank is looking for a Commercial Loan Analyst/Underwriter to join their team in downtown Oakland (BART accessible if needed).

Position Responsibilities:

• Will be working with a commercial real estate loan portfolio
• Perform analysis around borrower cash flow, financial statements, and spreads on a quarterly and yearly basis to ensure that lending conditions do not need to be modified. Will analyze variances and find out drivers behind them, writing up findings with recommendations.
• Follow up with borrowers to get additional information as needed.
• May support ad hoc special commercial lending projects as well.

• Minimum 5 years commercial real estate loan analysis or underwriting experience
• Must have strong analytical skills with ability to analyze financial statements, cash flow, and spread to make lending decisions based on findings. Need to be able to write up findings and recommendations as well.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel 2007 (must know how to perform functions such as pivot tables and v-lookups. The client will test the candidates as well)
• Experience working on special projects as part of a team or as a sole contributor as appropriate
• Strong written and verbal communication skills as will follow up with borrowers as appropriate to understand variances, get follow up information etc.
