Job Description: REF NO: 18213 JOB TITLE: Senior/Lead Pipeline Engineer LOCATION: Darlington / Co. Durham SALARY: 70k DURATION: Permanent KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- The Senior/Lead Pipeline Engineer will be working within the Piping, Pipeline and Plant Layout Department will be capable leading and performing the activities associated with Pipeline Projects, and ensuring that all deliverables are issued to time, cost and quality The Senior Pipeline Engineer reports corporately to the Piping Discipline Manager and for project specific matters to the Lead Piping Engineer. Responsible for the Design and Application of the following: Front end engineering design, detailed design & engineering of cross country pipelines for National Grid as per PD 8010, and IGE/TD/1 and IGE/TD/12. Knowledge of AGIs. Preparation of pipeline route maps, constraints, registers, proximity drawings and calcs, hydrostatic test diagrams, pipeline details and MTO summaries for pipeline projects. Preparation of engineering documents like pipeline design basis, material specifications and requisitions, data sheets, etc. Preparation of pipeline survey scope of work & construction scope of work. Preparing pipe wall thickness calculations, hydro test pressure calculations, road cross analysis, buoyancy, upheaval buckling, hot tapping calculations, and stress and stability analysis. Preparing hydro testing specification, drying and Pre-commissioning Specification etc. Pig launcher/receiver specifications and general arrangement drawings for the pig trap systems. Off plot design & engineering of flow lines and bulk lines. Experience across a range of pipeline materials, e.g. GRE, DSS and Carbon Steel with internal PE lining, FBE lining, rotolining, coating. Technical bid evaluation/vendor data evaluation of piping/pipeline items like Pig Launcher, Pig Receiver, Pig Signallers, Pipe, Valves, Flanges, Fittings, Isolation Joints, Barred Tees, Corrosion Coupon, Anchor Flanges, Heat Shrink Sleeves etc.. Participation in design review meetings, HAZOP Engineering Interface meetings with related projects. Knowledge of PD 8010 and also conversant with ANSI/ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API 5L, API 5LC, MSS-SP Standards, ASTM standards, ISO standards, API RP1102, API 6D, API 598, API 600, API 602,NACE MR01-75, Shell DEPs and other relevant International Codes & Standards. Familiar with the quality requirements for site construction activities, WPS/PQR etc. Constructability and EIA reviews. Construction support, e.g. attending to site queries & site related issues and preparing field change proposals, pipeline laying procedures/method statements. Knowledge & Experience:- A highly experienced Engineer qualified to HNC level minimum, CEng desirable, proficient in design engineering processes associated with UK pipeline projects. Good knowledge of pipeline codes, UK legislation and the environmental aspects of pipeline projects within the UK.
