Job Description:  Title: Sales Manager COMPANY DESCRIPTION My client is a leading provider of software licensing, hardware, security and related IT services. The company sells and supports products and solutions from all the world's leading IT companies. On all portfolio products and solutions it offers a full range of services, including advice and guidance, technical design, product sourcing, implementation, support and project management. Founded in 1993 the company remains privately owned, and currently employs over 350 people, achieved a turnover in excess of £220 million in its last financial year and has been profitable since inception, resulting in a strong balance sheet and very firm financial foundations. My client enjoys a trading relationship with over 3,500 longstanding customers, predominantly from the UK corporate sector, but also including large enterprises, small businesses and public sector organisations. As an organisation my client cares passionately about two things – outstanding employee satisfaction and world class customer service. We believe the former drives the latter. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY My clients Networking sales team was established three years ago to provide assistance to the wider account management team in designing and delivering networking solutions, predominantly focused on HP and Cisco technologies, to customers. This has been a success, and my client is now looking for an experienced and driven individual to drive the business forward to the next level. This Sales Manager role will report into the Solutions Director, and will encompass active selling into the account base, management responsibility for the existing team, involvement in vendor management and campaign activities and defining my client’s strategy in networking and unified communications areas. You will be innovative in approach, and not shy of getting your hands dirty. Readiness to carry both a personal and team target is of paramount importance. As a senior role, the preference would be for the successful candidate to be based out of our Marlow, Bucks HQ. You should of course be willing to travel, as customer-facing sales activity will be a large part of the role. SALES MANAGER - TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE - At least five years of IT industry sales experience. - Knowledge of the networking and UC marketplace a known player. - Particular knowledge and experience with HP Networking and Cisco product sets. - Sales management experience preferred. SALES MANAGER - RESPONSIBILITIES The Sales Manager will lead the networking team from the front by selling networking solutions into existing and prospective accounts in conjunction with the sales team. To raise awareness of our networking proposition within the sales team. To work with the Solutions Director to define and refine strategy and messaging in this area. To ensure that my client is presented in the best possible light within the relevant vendors and to set in motion and drive campaigns with those vendors. In particular to define and then deliver on the roadmap for certification with these vendors. To assist in the management of partners who deliver services on our behalf in these technology areas.
