Job Description:  Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Fracture Mechanics Engineer paying up to £55,000 Role purpose The Compliance and Engineering Services Department provides, consultancy certification, classification and verification services to the Energy industry. We require a Lead fracture mechanics specialist to join our Process, Plant and machinery Team to provide compliance and consultancy services to our global clients. The primary role involves the review of clients design documentation for compliance with regulations codes and standards plus consultancy services. Occasional travel required for client meetings and offshore visits. Key Responsibilities Main Responsibilities: * Reporting to the PPM Team Lead * To lead and develop fracture integrity management services * To provide leadership and mentoring of other engineers, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application * To provide client focal point for fracture integrity management services * Performing review of design documentation for compliance with regulations, codes and standards. * Providing good control of projects, including communicating with clients, financial control and timely and accurate reporting. * Provide technical assistance/advice as requested to internal and external clients. * Performing fitness for service assessments involving brittle fracture, creep and crack propagation. * Performing ECA's for reeled pipelines etc Technical/Professional Qualifications/Requirements Technically strong, you will have good communication skills and a willingness to find solutions as well as problems. The role will require confidence in making decisions, sometimes under pressure and an understanding of the commercial aspects of your work. As a guide, we are ideally looking for a candidate with: * a masters degree qualified and chartered Engineer * good knowledge of API 579 / ASME FFS-1 and BS 7910 * good knowledge of FE packages such as ABACUS and ANSYS * experienced use of software such as FEACrackTM , Signal FFSTM * ability to implement ECA's * Determination of exemptions from post weld heat treatment. * Fracture assessment of tubular components containing multiple crack-like flaws * Computational analysis of crack-like flaws in complex geometries, * fracture mechanics based fatigue assessment Call Rachel Adams NOW on (Apply online only) or apply online
