Job Description: CONFIDENTIAL Job Specification Components Commercial Manager Job ref: JE/19483 Salary: - Negotiable Location: North West The Components Commercial Manager will act as the primary customer-facing contact for component enquiries and the key interface into the Commercial team. He or she will work closely with Business Development Managers to execute new component enquiries, contract negotiations and pipeline management processes. He or she will be responsible for Components and Commercial goals and objective alignment and provide clarity in communication and reporting across the business. Responsibilities include: • Driving components business development, both seeding and converting customer interest into revenue generation in line with the overall business unit objectives. Drive both accountability and strategy alignment across the commercial team. • Generates, tracks and maintains a commercial pipeline management process inline with Components growth strategies, market trends and emerging technologies or applications. • Components customer advocate on enquiry, contract negotiations, pricing and quotations. Anticipates and resolves potential customer problem areas. • Development and maintenance of close customer relationships – ensuring goals and expectations are transparent to the team and are exceeded on programme execution. • Understands and filters key technical and commercial information for communication from the customer to senior management as part of the business growth. • Develop and maintain pricing models – Global / Regional for component parts and programmes, gaining alignment in approach with key stakeholders (Finance, Senior Leadership Team). • Proactively seeks additional areas of continuous value added improvement in terms of quality, service and cost. • Develop and maintain processes & procedures that ensure compliance with our quality, regulatory and legal requirements, i.e. Contract generation and New Product Introduction. • Drive alignment on Sales Budgets and Forecast generation. • Develop & maintain a process for program prioritisation and selection. Experience needed to fulfil the role • Experience in a components or part production environment, preferably with an understanding of polymer processes, ideally within a medical or regulated industry. • Demonstrable experience of strategy development and delivery. • Broad commercial understanding: how the business works, contract management and legal strategy, customer interface issues, customer policies, pipeline / portfolio management, interaction and network development with business development managers. • Financial appreciation e.g. value pricing • Demonstrable experience of complex project management. • Knowledge of part design and production methods. • Knowledge of polymer processing technologies. • Ideal candidates should also be: o Familiar with Medical or Hygiene manufacturing requirements/principles (i.e. FDA. GMP, ISO 13485). o Experienced in medical device /component manufacturing o Familiar with injection moulding o Qualifications Required • Degree in production engineering or technology-based subject is required. • Post graduate experience and experience in an operational management role.
