Job Description: International Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a Head of UK Test Equipment Projects. Please Note: you must be able to acquire SC (Secret Level) Security Clearance. The salary on offer is £60k + great benefits including a car allowance, annual bonus, pension, healthcare etc. Head of UK Test Equipment Projects Job Description: Lead the design and development of test solutions for the company equipment and products. Create innovative solutions for development and manufacturing test equipment by managing the day to day activities of multi disciplinary teams to meet demanding project timescales. This is a Senior Management role involved in structuring and directing the work of project teams. The company is looking for an experienced, outstanding Project Manager to take responsibility for technical teams delivering industrial test equipments : hardware and software for development test and manufacture test. The individual will come with clear technical experience of design and development of electronic equipment - ideally embedded real time, for industrial applications - avionics, automotive, medical, industrial. Strong communication and influencing skills are essential (with internal customers, prime equipment design teams, international capability managers) as are good business skills with the ability to trade cost, time and performance Accountabilities: 1. Responsible for the delivery of Test electronics activities on a large number of programmes to programme, cost and performance. 2. To ensure the development of competitive electronics solutions balance schedule, cost and performance, in line with test equipment policy. 3. To maximise efficiency by implementation of Modularity and Reuse policies and continuous development of supporting catalogues. 4. Establishing and motivating empowered teams to undertake and achieve tasks to committed specifications, timescales and costs across a range or programmes and for a variety of discipline 5. Provide clear and positive leadership to project teams & within the function 6. Develop Electronic Engineering UK Test Equipment capabilities with internal staff development, use of sub-contract staff and external partnerships within Europe. 7. Report to the Head of Test Equipment in Electronic Engineering for transverse aspects (compliance to the Test Policy, use of re usable module) PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Project commitments on time, cost and function achieved Mature test solutions meeting the needs of internal projects and external customers Efficient deployment of Reuse and Modularity, and adherence to the test policy. Motivated Workforce, delivering as a focused team Motivated teams, delivering consistently Capabilities available for new projects, meeting the needs of the business. Experience/Skills: Track record of design and development of industrial electronic products. Preferably including design of complex test systems. Extensive experience of management of innovative, highly skilled engineering teams Broad technical knowledge of all aspects of electronic design & manufacturing products Proven leadership and communication skills Strong organisational skills Experience of International Working
