Job Description: CONFIDENTIAL Job Specification Process Manager Job ref: JE/18720 Salary: - Negotiable Location: North West The Process Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing and process development activities in support of commercial customer specific programmes along with providing manufacturing operational support to our internal technology function. This will involve leading a team of processing professionals and ensuring that we maintain and grow the manufacturing process requirements in line with evolving business needs. The role demands strong skills in production process development/engineering, polymer part production and people management. A high performer may have depth of experience in project delivery and management of medical device manufacturing processes. The ability to lead and develop a technical team is critical to this role. Responsibilities include: Manage all activities within the manufacturing process operations team. Manage and prioritise the use of in-house processing assets for the core business. Lead the process engineering development activities. Research, develop and validate novel processes for new products. Establish a supplier network to develop the delivery capabilities of the Custom Solutions team. Develop and maintain relationships within the supply network. Ensure delivery of all programmes to agreed timescales and quality targets. Provide technical guidance to the customer on means to improve the overall quality and responsiveness of the program. Facilitate team meetings, decision-making, and problem solving Develop change control process for new programs and existing products. Integrates and coordinates with other technical functions (Product Development, Operations & Logistics) as well as commercial (Business Development, Marketing). Builds a best in class manufacturing capability. Experience needed to fulfil the role Experience of developing team members, and ensuring that they work effectively. Capable of ensuring team members work within framework of quality system. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Knowledge of regulatory pathways of customers. Experience of managing validation programs. Experience in component/part manufacturing environment, both metallic and thermoplastic. Knowledge of mould design and tooling fabrication is beneficial. Knowledge of machining operations and best practices. Should be able to read and understand mechanical drawings and interpret visual inspection data. Good understanding of all polymer part manufacturing technologies Familiar with CAD/CAM technologies and ability to extract necessary information Proven customer linked project management Solid foundation in planning, organizing, and implementing engineering and technology programs. Demonstrated abilities in project management including prioritization & meeting deadlines. Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Possess good problem solving skills and to think in process terms. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to self-direct work activities with little or no supervision. Familiar with Medical or Hygiene manufacturing requirements/principles (i.e. FDA. GMP, ISO 13485). Qualifications Required BS Degree in engineering or polymer science required. Significant industrial experience may be considered as equivalent.
