Job Description: World class Defence Organisation based in Bristol is currently looking to recruit 4 Systems Engineers. Please note: candidates do not have to hold current SC Security Clearance but must have the ability to be cleared. The contract is initially for 6 months (ongoing after). The rate on offer is dependant on skills and experience. Systems Engineer Job Description: System Design activities contributing to the Specification, Design and Validation of the C2 & LMS Subsystems. Carry out a full range of technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability. Prepare a full range of specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out design appraisals. Carry out investigations into a full range of problems, issues or developments and develop and prepare solutions. Specific Activities will include: o Requirement Analysis and Design in response to a customer requirement o Production and maintenance of FLAADS C2 & LMS software requirements specifications and interface requirements specifications o Ensuring correct flow down of top level requirements to C2 & LMS sub-systems and interfaces o Definition of system/software test specifications for compliance testing o Production of Test Definitions and Scenarios to be used in the validation of C2 & LMS software o Analysis of test results to validate C2 & LMS software operation o Production of Documentation to satisfy customer deliverables Ideal Plan, control and deliver assigned projects or work packages. Carry out team planning, risk management and quality activities in assigned areas in line with all requirements and processes. Manage and report against the teams work programmes, including analysis of risk Technical skills in one or more of the following areas are required:- Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline Significant Systems Engineer / Systems Design Engineer experience. Significant, relevant experience, in particular command and control. Substantial analytical and problem solving skills Sound understanding of the system design process (including System and Sub-System Specification, System Test, Integration and Certification) Rhapsody and UML Knowledge of Algorithm and Software development Practical Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: o Use of DOORS for requirement management, tracking and mapping certification evidence o System testing including the production of related documentation o Interface specification o Knowledge of data analysis techniques o Software technology and design/validation methods
