Job Description: Sr. Web Developer - PHP, CakePHP, Linux, MySQL, Javascript, HTML LAMP Web Developer needed for a top Consumer-facing Internet Company - PHP, CakePHP, Javascript, SQL - Skills Required - Web Development, PHP, CakePHP, Python, Linux/Unix, SQL, Javascript, HTML/CSS, Apache, Graphic Design Sr. Web Developer - PHP, CakePHP, Linux, MySQL, Javascript, HTML/CSS Based in downtown Boston, MA, we are a fast growing and well funded start-up company that specializes in developing a truly unique and revolutionary enterprise Internet application targeted towards the travel industry. We have a brand new position open for someone to come in and help put their footprint on this application. We are recruiting for a Sr. Web Developer that has a strong background in Web Development in a LAMP environment including PHP 5, CakePHP (highly preferred), or Python. This position is an outstanding opportunity for a strong, entrepreneurial minded developer interested in helping create a breakthrough online service to help consumers find and book their travel over the internet. Responsibilities: ~The person in this position will be tightly integrated into the Web Development team, lead development on several new initiatives and manage small teams across several projects. ~Facilitate an end-to-end Software development process and keep up with multiple projects. ~Develop new web pages, fix bugs, build feature enhancements. ~Oversee the work and tasks of junior developers. ~Collaborate with the Back End data team. ~Work closely with the Product Manager and Web Development Director to help guide our strategic decisions. Must Have Skills: 1.) 6-10+ years of Web Development experience, at least 5 of which are using LAMP technologies. 2.) Must have strong PHP 5, or CakePHP, or Python development skills. Must have OOP skills. 3.) Strong Web Development skills including Javascript, HTML, and CSS is required. 4.) A deep appreciation for Open Source technologies and a passion for the Internet. 5.) A desire to be a key part of building an industry leading service. 6.) Extensive SQL skills. Database optimization experience, MYSQL preferred. 7.) BS in Computer Science or related. Pluses: 1.) A strong eye for design and/or graphic design capability, SEO knowledge, management experience. 2.) Experience developing a highly trafficked, consumer facing Internet applications is a huge plus.
